I joined the SeaChoice team during an exciting period of change, when initiatives were shifting away from direct retailer partnerships and consumer education initiatives and towards greater traceability and transparency of seafood supply chains. In my role as Seafood Supply Chain Analyst, I coordinate all work that interfaces with the seafood supply chain, from dock to markets. This includes initiatives relating to the transparency of retailer sustainable seafood commitments and product traceability. I also support seafood labelling and national labelling requirements.

I came to SeaChoice from London (UK), where I had been working to improve European Union (EU) fisheries management with environmental law NGO ClientEarth, first as a marine science and policy advisor, and then as fisheries project lead. This period included finalization of the EU Common Fisheries Policy reform. Four years of reform implementation saw the introduction of big policy shifts, such as an obligation to land all catches of quota species, and a legal requirement to limit fishing pressure (for example, through Total Allowable Catches) to sustainable levels by 2020 at the latest. Before joining ClientEarth, I worked on marine policy at the Zoological Society of London, and on international fisheries policy as a researcher for the Sea Around Us project, hosted by UBC’s Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries.
I hold an MSc in Environmental Sustainability from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Biology from The University of British Columbia.
